Sharif Abdel Kouddous is an independent investigative journalist who joined the staff of Democracy Now! in 2003 as a producer and in the time since has covered crucial events around the world.

Some of these stories include reporting from the ground in Baghdad during the Iraq War, covering New Orleans immediately following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, documenting the aftermath of January 2010’s tragic earthquake in Haiti, and witnessing everything from political conventions to climate change summits.

His writing has appeared in The Nation, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Foreign Policy, and Mada Masr, and Kouddous has shared his insights on TV programs, including MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, Hardball with Chris Matthews, and Al Jazeera English.
